Oh, just a walk in the graveyard. That's all.

For as long as I can remember, cemeteries have always been oddly comfortable to me. Hospitals, churches, funerals, no way, I'll avoid them any way possible. But cemeteries just feel familiar. So I took a little break and popped on down to the cemetery here in Canton. I've passed it a million times and always wanted to go in, but never had a good camera til recently. The place is absolutely fantastic. Some of the stones look like something straight out of a horror movie, which is so damn exciting for a weirdo like me. It was a bit bright out today, but I'm still happy with how these came out. Here are some of my favorites after the break.

I liked this one because the middle piece is actually far larger than the two small stones (1.5-2x human height compared to knee high), but because of the perspective, you'd probably have no idea.

I saw this broken grave and from far away and was instantly drawn to it. It almost looks like it was designed to be broken the way it is.

So old and eerie looking. Loved this grave in particular.

A small group of graves that were really clustered together. I found it unusual and very interesting.

Probably my favorite. I love how the shadow of the tree is exactly on the line of graves. It makes the graves seem even darker than a grave already is.

I know it's very weird, but for some reason I felt like this big tree was purposely placed so close to this and the surrounding stones to protect them.

It's a little blurrier than I'd like, but I saw something beautiful in the way a grave is so dark but then there's this huge bright tree behind it.

Another beautiful living tree shadowing the dead. It seems so out of place. Reminds me of the rose bushes in Practical Magic for some reason.

This chipmunk was staring me down from inside a crack in the gravestone. Such a cute little guy! Wish I wasn't so scared of rabies or I would have made friends with him.
